The Chinese courses cover the 2,000 most commonly used words in spoken Chinese and over 1,200 words commonly used in newspapers and magazines. (All Chinese courses are available in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.) All words have sample sentences and audio.

“The iKnow! Learning Engine”

iKnow! presents items in a spaced rehearsal pattern optimized for efficient learning. iKnow! adapts to differences in learning speeds and item difficulty, constantly measuring memory and predicting performance across all of your items. iKnow! does this by tracking your performance and then predicting your optimal review time on an item-by-item basis.

Pros and cons of iKnow! app for iPhone and iPad

iKnow! app good for

I love iknow and using it everyday. I just miss one feature in the app: the review mode for completed courses as we have it on the website. Keep it up!
I always get back for studying there, its very stimulating the game approach, but not even shallow as lots of users suspect.
Keeps you motivated! It they add the stroke animation from the desktop version to this app, it would be a five.
This app is great for studying Japanese! (If you dont mind paying 69 bucks for a year) Theres a free demo tho that gives you like 5 sessions for free.
Ive used iKnow online before it became a paid site and the app makes studying even easier. I like the short, segmented sessions that lets me get a quick study session in while Im on the bus or in the morning. The interface is clean and easy to use. The only improvement Id suggest is to enable all the features in the app that are on the website (statistics, focus, etc.). A fantastic program!
Version 3.10 and my iPod Touch with iOS 6.1.5 dont seem to get along. When I run the app all I get is a black screen.

Some bad moments

Please read the iKnow forums before considering a subscription. Both the online version and the app are good for short-term retention and lousy for long-term retention. The company keeps promising upgrades but doesnt deliver. There are many other great apps for learning Japanese.
The recent update has stability issues. It crashes constantly and is basically unusable. I recommend that you dont upgrade until the bugs are fixed. Cerego , please fix the bugs ASAP.
Looks good but: - no gmail openid support - no native app animations - tapping keyboard button is a horrible UX - all text output was gone in a middle of a session, cant continue it Just use a website for now.
Very easy to use made learning fun. Highly recommend this app.
I paid for (in app) one of the pro memberships, but didnt receive membership access. Im waiting for a response from customer support. I think Ill have to report the problem to iTunes.
In addition to the premium membership through website, iKnow app allows you to carry your studies wherever you go. Then, if you are offline you just need to sync the progress. I just think that all functionalities should be implemented here. Like the game Brain Speed for example.
